Founded by Miguel “M.i.G.” Martinez and Jamie Sisley, Aster Creative Co. focuses on discovering the most authentic, thoughtful, and visually arresting way to tell stories. MiG and Jamie cultivated this approach when they first collaborated on the feature documentary, Farewell Ferris Wheel. The film received an Emmy nomination for best documentary, an Imagen award nomination for positive portrayal of Latinos in entertainment and was broadcast nationally on PBS and Netflix. In addition to his work at Aster, Jamie wrote and directed Stay Awake, a narrative short film that premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and received the National Board of Review Film Prize. He is set to direct a narrative feature film version of Stay Awake in 2021. Jamie earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia, and an M.F.A. in Screenwriting and Directing from Columbia University. Originally from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, MiG has been around the Washington D.C. art scene for over a decade. Prior to D.C., he spent eleven years hosting/creating the first bilingual radio show in Central Virginia. His music video, film, and photography work with clients such as Ozomatli and Orishas landed him a Grammy nomination.
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
Chef Suwan Sates’ love for cooking was passed down to her by her mother, whom she spent countless hours cooking with throughout her childhood. Sates hails from the coastal city of Pattaya, Thailand, where she opened her own restaurant in 2004. She set out on her first trip abroad as the Thai ambassador’s chef in 2007. Before coming to DC, she served as the embassy chef in Seoul, Bangladesh, and Geneva, and even returned to Thailand to run a sweets shop for two years. Her favorite Thai dishes are Pad Kraprao (stir-fried meat-of-choice with holy basil), Pad Thai, and Gang Kiew Wan (Thai green curry). Sates has 2 younger siblings and 3 children. Once she has finished her work in DC, she plans to retire and return home to her family in Thailand.
