Executive Producer Shannon Lee, daughter of Bruce Lee, recounts WARRIOR's journey to the screen, first pitched by her father in the 1970’s. In discussion with host, Philip W. Chung of YOMYOMF, and Stunt Coordinator, Brett Chan, Lee highlights the challenges of producing the show as it was originally imagined by her father, and the personal obstacles he encountered in the industry ranging from racial inequality to representing authentic, masterful martial arts.

Philip W. Chung oversees the creative content for YOMYOMF, director Justin Lin’s (STAR TREK BEYOND, FAST & FURIOUS franchise) Asian American-centric production company, and has worked in various capacities in film, TV, theater, and digital. Previously, he was the co-founder/co-Artistic Director of Lodestone Theatre Ensemble, an Asian American theater company, where he produced over 100 theatrical plays, workshops, and readings. Chung has developed projects for YouTube, Machinima, Comcast/NBCUniversal, Ovation TV, IFC, Legendary Pictures, ABC, eOne, and others. He co-wrote/produced the Justin Lin-produced Chinese feature HOLLYWOOD ADVENTURES which opened at #1 in China and produced Google's first 360 degree project HELP, directed by Justin Lin. Current producing or writing projects include Family Style (an Asian food series for Stage 13/WB), Moonshadow (a LGBTQ-centric horror feature for Gunpowder & Sky), a Christmas movie for Disney Channel, a children's musical for Adventure Theatre MTC in Glen Echo, and several scripted podcast series.

Recent international credits include 2nd Unit directing the action sequences and fight choreography for the hit Cinemax series “WARRIOR” based on Bruce Lee’s original treatment, the epic period battle scenes for Netflix’s “Marco Polo” and martial arts masterpieces for Netflix and Marvels’ original series. In his hometown of Vancouver, Brett’s many credits include stunt coordinating the 80s-style actioner “Skyscraper” starring The Rock and “Snowpiercer,” a sci-fi thriller series for TBS/Netflix. Through his global travels and 20 years in the industry, Brett has founded HITZ INTERNATIONAL, a professional stunt organization comprised of stunt performers, stunt coordinators, 2nd unit directors, and horse masters from around the world. The culmination of Brett’s seasoned work experience has led him to this project, which sets the stage for the emergence of an exciting new visionary talent in the global action genre.

Shannon’s mission is to provide access to her father’s philosophy and life through education and entertainment. She is the creator of Camp Bruce Lee through the Bruce Lee Foundation, and has spoken at TED, TEDx, and Creative Mornings, to name a few. Shannon lives in California with her daughter, Wren, where she co-hosts the Bruce Lee Podcast and executive produces Cinemax’s WARRIOR. Her first book, Be Water, My Friend, was released October 6th.
